Omicida Summon Late-Era Classic Thrash Greats on “Defrauded Reign”

0

Italian thrashers Omicida bare ownership to a most curious distinction in the metal community: two band members named Giovanni. If any of you Metal Archives rats care to spend your free time proving my double Giovanni claim wrong, go for it… but fine, I’ll play it safe and say they’re the first pair of Giovannis to ever appear in a MetalSucks article, that work?

On “Defrauded Reign,” the title track from Omicida’s upcoming album, the outfit (currently based in Los Angeles and featuring two former members of White Wizzard) cranks out high-energy, vintage-style thrash jams that pay homage to the tail end of the genre’s classic era, with nods to Testament, Death Angel, Slayer and more littered throughout the track’s frenetic three-and-a-half minute runtime. Breakneck drums, evil-sounding riffs, high-throated thrash screams… you know the deal! In short: you’re headbanging.

Defrauded Reign will come out on March 15th and can be pre-ordered here. Watch the video for the title track below.
