Video: Nine-Year-Old Shreds Guns N’ Roses on Ellen

MetalSucks readers, meet Australian Taj Farrant. Two-and-a-half years ago, he saw national heroes AC/DC live for the first time and fell in love with the guitar. Now he’s so good that they’ve got him on Ellen shredding though the solo from “Sweet Child O’ Mine” by Guns N’ Roses.

Learning to play an instrument that well in such a relatively short amount of time would be impressive under any circumstances.

But also, Farrant is nine. Which means he was about six-and-a-half when he started playing guitar.

So.

What has your kid done lately?

Young Mr. Farrant is so good, it almost makes me sad that they got Slash back in Guns N’ Roses — the way Axl Rose went through guitar players, he Taj probably had a serious chance of being in the band some day.

You can enjoy some more videos of Taj below, or on his YouTube channel.
