Def Leppard’s Stylist Has Heard of Skeletonwitch

People are really excited because Def Leppard bassist Rick Savage went on Good Morning America while wearing a Skeletonwitch patch. Which is great for Skeletonwitch! They’re still riding high on last year’s Devouring Radiant Light, which is the best album of their career to date. I’m all for anything that might gain that band even just one new fan.

Having said that, my immediate thought upon seeing this was, “Does Rick Savage have any idea who Skeletonwitch are?” I kind of imagined someone much hipper in Def Leppard’s costume department (this band must have a costume department, right?) handing him the coat with the patch already sewn on and being like “Here wear this” and him being like “Okay!” and that being the extent of his thought or involvement in the process.

But maybe I’m not giving Mr. Savage enough credit. Maybe the dude really loves Skeletonwitch. Or maybe one of his three kids does! Like I said, it doesn’t really matter, so long as Skeletonwitch get some extra attention. It just made me to laugh to think about is all.

Side note: I earnestly hope this leads to a Skeletonwitch cover of “Love Bites.” I think they’d kill that song.
