The only problem with Edwin Starr’s classic, “War,” is that it’s too goddamn upbeat to really function as any kind of condemnation of its titular subject. Bill McClintock‘s latest mash-up fixes that by breeding the Starr anthem with Slayer’s “South of Heaven.” Suddenly, Starr doesn’t sound so upbeat!
