Internet Metal Nerds are Angry About Matt Heafy’s New Guitar Double-Strap

Whilst browsing Instagram on the crapper yesterday morning (don’t act like you don’t), I came upon a post by Trivium frontman/guitarist Matt Heafy announcing a new line of guitar straps he’s unveiling with Richter, ergonomically designed to help distribute your guitar’s weight more evenly across your body instead of loading it all onto one shoulder. “Wow, that’s brilliant,” I thought, as I remembered how my left shoulder always used to hurt after extended periods of standing while playing. And then I wiped my ass and began my day.

The metal internet, naturally conservative in nature and resistant to any kind of change, has all sorts of objections to Heafy’s new product, which in fact has not one strap but two to equally distribute the weight load. And, as expected, they were quite vocal about their feelings, as I found out a day later via Ultimate Guitar. Samples:
