Metallica Announce Second Annual Day of Charity Service

0

Metallica have been active with a number of charity efforts since launching their All Within My Hands Foundation in 2017, and they’ve just announce their second annual day of service after last year’s highly successful effort that drew more than 1,000 volunteers to local food banks.

On May 22nd, Metallica fans across the U.S. are invited to volunteer for a day of service at food banks in communities that have supported Metallica on their WorldWired North American tour dates. A press release explains:

“In cooperation with Feeding America, Metallica and AWMH have been proud to make contributions to their local partners in those cities. Now, once again, they humbly ask their friends across the country to supporting the fight against hunger in their neighborhoods

“More than 50 food banks will be participating in this year’s activities — more than twice as many as last year — and each registered volunteer will receive a special All Within My Hands T-shirt commemorating our united Day of Service. Please note that space is limited and therefore registering in advance is mandatory. Unfortunately it will not be possible to accept walk-ins.

For a complete list of participating food banks and information on how to register to volunteer, go to metallica.com or allwithinmyhands.org. Those who do not live near one of the participating food banks, or are otherwise unavailable on May 22nd, are encouraged to visit www.feedingamerica.org to see how they can contribute.

Last year, Metallica performed a special acoustic concert in their native San Francisco, raising $1.3 million for All Within My Hands. The proceeds were donated to Feeding America and The American Association of Community Colleges.
