Mike Mangini (Dream Theater) Goes Ham on Home Depot Bucket Drum Kit

0

Mike Mangini made a recent appearance in the studio of Boston radio station WAAF and went ham on a drum kit fashioned from Home Depot buckets, a pasta colander, a trash can lid, and a suitcase.

Even without a professional set, the Dream Theater drummer managed to make the best of his situation and showed those damn buckets who’s boss, mowing through classics like Van Halen’s “Hot for Teacher” and Rush’s “Tom Sawyer.” Just in case the money from Dream Theater’s latest release Distance Over Time isn’t enough, Mangini might consider a career busking on the NYC subways with his pasta colanders for commuters’ spare change, and he’d surely rake it in.
