Video: Kenny G. Joined Chon On Stage at Coachella

I can only imagine the circumstances that led to legendary saxophonist Kenny G. joining instrumental metal savants Chon on stage at Coachella this past weekend. Is Kenny a fan of Chon? Did he just happen to be at Coachella? Did he run into one of the Chonsters at the porta-potties and the two just got along famously right away? My best guess is this: maybe there’s some kind of connection between Chon and The Mantle, the latter of whom feature Kenny G.’s son on guitar and are an instrumental metal band in a similar vein as Chon. But that’s just conjecture. You can imagine the porta-potty scenario if you like.

Whatever the case, it happened, and naturally there’s fan-filmed video to prove it. The guest appearance came on Chon’s song “Can’t Wait,” which you can check out below. Will Kenny G. be back for round two of Coachella next weekend? STAY TUNED for this crucial and exciting slice of culture!
