Stream Dub Trio’s New Album The Shape of Dub to Come in Full (Feat. Buzz Osborne, Troy Sanders)

Dub metal pioneers Dub Trio have enlisted some very special guests on The Shape of Dub to Come, their first new album in eight years: Melvins’ Buzz Osborne and Mastodon’s Troy Sanders, both phenomenal gets in the abstract, unlimited world of possible guest artists. They’ve fared well in the past, too, having collaborated with Mike Patton and Lady Gaga. All that should show you the level of respect these three New York musicians command from the music world at large.

Explains bassist Stu Brooks on how the band’s unique sound came to be:

“We were a dub/reggae band, and we started implementing what we thought was cool from The Refused and bands like that. The Shape of Dub To Come describes our whole method; applying dub as a process to virtually any style of music. The future of dub doesn’t have to be just reggae. It’s a process rather than a genre.”

And that’s a process I’m always going to want to be a part of, because this band brings it hard every. single. damn. time. And this album is no different.

The Shape of Dub to Come comes out on April 26th via New Damage Records; pre-order here. Catch the band on tour this spring; dates underneath the stream. I’ll be at the Brooklyn date losing my damn mind.
