Ozzy Osbourne Is Managing His Pain with CBD

In a new interview with the U.K. talk show Loose Women, Sharon Osbourne, wife and manager of Ozzy Osbourne, reveals that Ozzy is now one of the millions of people who recently saw a CBD product with weed leaves all over the packaging while in line at a bodega and figured, “Fuck it, it’s only a dollar.”

As you may recall, Ozzy recently tripped over a shoe while going for a middle-of-the-night piss, thereby aggravating an injury originally sustained in 2003. Consequently, the Black Sabbath frontman had to have surgery and postpone all of his 2019 performances (which would be a huge deal even if this wasn’t his retirement tour).

During her Loose Women appearance, Sharon shed a bit more light on poor ol’ Ozzy’s injury:

“A few years ago, he was in a motorbike accident and he had to have metal rods put in his body and the accident moved all the metal rods and the bones they were screwed into all splintered. Then he had trouble with his neck and they had to do two operations on him and he’s in recovery now, thank goodness. But every day he has to work with a physiotherapist.”

That sounds brutal, and Ozzy is still a couple of years older than me, so I can’t even imagine how brutal it must actually be. But how does a guy like Ozzy manage his pain? Surely, someone with his history of substance abuse issues isn’t popping opiates, right?

“He’s off all of that. He had to have it after he was operated on the last time. But now for pain, he has that CBD —whatever it’s called — and he’s dealing with it that way.”

For those of you who haven’t made any late night impulse purchases at a CVS or Rite Aid recently, CBD stands for “can’t blaze dick” “cannabidiol,” and it’s basically the less-fun part of weed doesn’t get you baked. As explained by this website which was clearly designed with the sole intention of selling CBD:

“CBD is closely related to another important medicinally active phytocannabinoid: tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), the compound that causes the high that cannabis is famous for. These are the two components of cannabis that have been most studied by scientists.

“Both CBD and THC have significant therapeutic attributes. But unlike THCCBD does not make a person feel ‘stoned’ or intoxicated. That’s because CBD and THC act in different ways on different receptors in the brain and body.”

Neat.

Ozzy’s rescheduled North American tour dates are here. His rescheduled U.K. and European tour dates are here.
