He Is Legend: They Were Robbed

Exactly one month from today, He Is Legend will release their new album, White Bat, which evidence suggests will be another satisfying entry in the band’s oeuvre. They’re finishing up some live dates in support of the album this week; this should be a celebratory time for them.

Unfortunately, some shithead(s?) robbed them, which has clearly, and understandably, cast a pall over the band members’ moods.

Frontman Schuylar Croom explained in a series of tweets (amalgamated and edited for clarity):

“Last night after our most memorable show in Hollywood, CA to date, someone decided to smash the window of our van and take many of our personal belongings. Anyone who’s ever toured knows what kind of important and irreplaceable things we keep in our book bags… our whole lives.

“I hope this person or persons have heavy hearts as they look thru a bunch of useless shit in the light of day… because I’m about to make those hearts cease to beat with my mind.

“Hopefully they think my insulin is morphine and kill themselves in the process.

“Speaking of which if anyone in Austin has an extra pen of novalog and can help DM me.

“To all junkies and thieves, I bid you change your lives or that they end.

“I’m gonna chill. Maybe this 20 hour drive to Austin will calm me down. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯”

FUCK, dude, I hope someone was able to help Croom get some insulin. I mean. Holy shit. Just. FUCK.

So yeah everything about this blows. The band subsequently released their own statement, which basically just reiterated what Croom said only without wishing anyone harm for their transgression. They also asked that fans “come party extra hard with us in Auston and Houston,” which is where the last two shows of their current trek will take place. A fair request! If you live in the area, go check ’em out, buy a shirt if you can.

Info for those last two shows is as follows (via Kerrang!):

May 29 @ Come and Take It Live – Austin, TX (tickets)
May 30th  @  Acadia Live – Houston, TX (tickets)
