Like my gram-gram always said, “You can never have too much Clutch.” Which is why we should all rejoice that the band has announced what they’re calling the Weathermaker Vault Series — new one-off studio recordings that are meant to give the band shit to do when they don’t have other shit to do. Or, as frontman Neil Fallon puts it:

“We’ve had a good amount of downtime since our last tour. And since the devil finds work for idle hands, we kept ourselves busy by recording some tunes. ‘Evil’ is the first of them, a song we’ve loved for many, many years.”

As you may have guessed from Neil’s statement, the first track from the Weathermaker Vault Series is a cover of “Evil” by Willie Dixon… although Clutch’s take on the song clearly owes more to the 1971 version of the song by Cactus than it does to Dixon’s original.

You can check out Clutch’s iteration of “Evil” via the below David Brodsky-directed video. “Future tracks will follow as part of the new series throughout the 2nd half of 2019,” according to a press release.
