A Day To Remember and Marshmello Collaborate on New EDM Track “Rescue Me”

0

There’s exactly one A Day to Remember song I really liked: “All I Want,” their 2011 pop-punk jam, the video of which featured a ton of high-profile metal cameos (Vincent Bennett, Matt Heafy, Andrew W.K., etc.). Beyond that I have never paid much attention to the band. Maybe I should?

Unfortunately the band’s new single, a collaboration with EDM producer Marshmello, isn’t helping my cause. It sounds more or less like any song you’d hear alongside the latest Adam Levine track on your local pop radio station with that same glitchy electronic beat that’s everywhere these days and overly auto-tuned vocals, but with a few guitar chugs thrown in here and there. I certainly understand why A Day To Remember would go this direction, it’s just not really for me (this track appears to be a standalone single, so perhaps they’ll get back to rocking ASAP). Although who knows, maybe it’ll grow on me — it is pretty catchy. Check it out below.
