Hammerfall Pay Tribute to Swedish Metal Bands in “Sweden Rock” Video

0

Power metal legends Hammerfall are giving back to the community that spawned them in their new video for the song “(We Make) Sweden Rock,” a full-throated tribute to the rich heavy metal history of their native country. The song’s lyrics make overt references to their fellow countrymen, and the video is a nonstop parade of photos of Swedish metal royalty. I didn’t immediately recognize all the bands pictured (some of them flash by really quickly), but I did spot Opeth, In Flames, Meshuggah, Yngwie Malmsteen, Dark Tranquillity and At the Gates, among others. What a swell gesture on Hammerfall’s part! I will most certainly take off my shoes immediately upon entering their house next time they invite me over, and I’ll bring a bottle of wine, too. Nice wine, even!

On top of that, “(We Make) Sweden Rock” is a typically delightful Hammerfall song. Classic power metal base, catchy chorus, big guitars, lots of fists in the air and triumphant arm gestures… you know the deal.

Hammerfall’s new album Dominion comes out August 16th via Napalm; pre-order here.
