Watch: Myrkur Joins Smashing Pumpkins on Stage for Cover of Black Sabbath’s “Snowblind”

0

Smashing Pumpkins and Myrkur have a shared history, having performed a cover of Fleetwood Mac’s “Landslide” together at two shows last year in London and Italy. The ’90s rock legends and rising black metal / folk star collaborated on someone else’s tune once again yesterday, Sunday, June 16th, at Download Festival in the U.K., where Myrkur joined the Pumpkins for a live rendition of Black Sabbath’s “Snowblind.”

Myrkur did a fantastic job handling Ozzy’s lead vocals on the track (better than Ozzy ever sounded, frankly!) and I have to imagine it was something of a rush for her to perform in front of such a large crowd on the festival’s main stage immediately before the night’s headliners (Tool). Interestingly, Myrkur was not a scheduled performer at Download, meaning she traveled up to Donington just for this. Looks like it was a fun moment for all that felt like something special to the tens of thousands in attendance. Watch below.
