TWO F*CKING KILLER FALL TOURS TO LOOK FORWARD TO

170

amon amarth johanAs if this summer’s touring season isn’t already shaping up to be an excellent one — whatwith the likes of Metal Masters (Priest / Heaven and Hell / Motorhead / Testament), the At the Gates reunion, Boris/Torche, and a whole shitload of other great shows — this fall is already shaping up really fuckin’ nicely. This is terrible news for the rest of my social life, but fuck, how can I miss out on these awesome shows?

Brooklyn Vegan has done some excellent detective work, piecing together bits and pieces to compile a list of mostly confirmed U.S. dates featuring Opeth, High On Fire, and Baroness. We also are hearing whispers that Nachtmystium will actually open the first half of the tour while Baroness will open the second half. [Update – We just received official confirmation of these. See dates below] Call me a whiner, but that situation kind of sucks because I’d love to see both; though in this case, having seen Baroness twice in the past year and having never seen Nachtmystium, I hope Nachtmystium ends up on the NYC date (when one is announced; there’s a nice big hole on the East Coast in the early portion of the routing).

The other big cahuna this fall is the Amon Amarth tour, which features support from Ensiferum, Belphegor, and The Absence. Paganfest Part 2? Not quite, but almost. It was at an Amon Amarth show that Axl and I spawned the idea for this site, and the dudes bring it live; Ensiferum was great at Paganfest; and I’m totally stoked to finally see The Absence as well. I don’t know much about Belphegor but I’m naturally interested.

So, uh, see you in the pit right behind the pit.
