We’ve been talking about making MetalSucks merch almost as long as there’s been a MetalSucks, and “When can I buy a shirt?” is easily one of the questions we’re asked most frequently (along with “When is Completely Unreadable Band Logo coming back?” and “Why are you guys such assholes?”). Well, the day has arrived at last – MetalSucks shirts and hoodies are here!
There are four different styles, which were graciously designed for us by Rodney Githens from Vertebrae 33, Sergeant D from Metal Inquistion and Stuff You Will Hate (check out his flickr page for more design work!), and Jesse Zuretti from The Binary Code. Everything will start shipping two weeks from today, but you can place pre-orders now.

In addition to graciously offering to run our site for a whole day, Devin is going to be making himself available for a live webchat tonight!
At exactly midnight EST / 9pm PST (that’s 5am Wednesday in the UK and 4pm Wednesday in Sydney), a Meebo chat room will appear embedded in a new top post at MetalSucks. Devin will be chatting under the handle “DT” (imposters beware), and the chat will last for a full hour as long as you are all good samaritans and don’t turn it into a raging shitfest. Free to ask Devin anything at all. If you can’t be in front your computer tonight, don’t fret — Devin plans to do a similar chat via Twitter within the next few days in which he’ll answer more questions and clear up any issues that might arise out of the MetalSucks session.

We have fired Gary Suarez. There will be no more Scraping Genius Off the Wheel.
We have put up with Gary’s bullshit for a long time now. Whether it was praising Bush or defending Chris fucking Cornell or giving unauthorized interviews where he admitted to being “the odd man out at MetalSucks” or naming Kingdom of Sorrow’s album the best of 2008 or Andrew WK’s I Get Wet the best metal album of the 21st century, Gary has been at the center of more screaming matches during MS editorial meetings than any other writer we’ve ever worked with. And we generally loved his writing just enough to put up with his nonsense.
But that Oceano review was going too far.
It’s horror movie season, and with the sixth installation of the ridiculously successful Saw franchise opening next Friday, Lionsgate and our pals over at Metal Insider want to hook you up! The same day the movie opens, Metal Insider is having their first Annual CMJ Listening Party. Axl and Vince both recently got douchie iPhones, because they do everything together including eating, sleeping, fucking and going to shul. But honestly, the quality of life improvement resulting from said purchases is that drastic; life is without a doubt much, much better now.
So, as some of you have already noticed MetalSucks is now iPhone friendly; if you visit MetalSucks using Safari on an iPhone or iPod Touch you’ll see a much sleeker, simpler, faster version of the site. If you’d prefer to view it the old/normal/slow way, just scroll all the way down to the bottom and flick the “Mobile Theme” slider to “off.”
Maybe a MetalSucks app soon? Who knows.
