If you didn’t listen to Rich Hall from 1000 Knives and myself on last night’s Metal Injection Livecast – and shame on you if you didn’t – you can now download it here. Mostly we just goofed off and talked to callers, but I think we actually addressed some serious issues, too, like what it means when you see our logo on a tour poster, how just about any acapella metal cover that isn’t by Van Canto is good, and, uh… I think there was some other stuff. I don’t remember.

Is there such a thing as a hangover, only with weed? If there is, I have that. A weedover. A hempover? Whatever you’d call it.

And by “wreak havoc,” I mean “get high and sit there pretty calmly and talk about metal.”

The last time I did the Livecast I had such a good time that I kept saying that I was gonna invite myself to sit-in more often; well, that was in July, so, y’know. Shit happens.

But I’m gonna be on tonight! And so will Rich Hall (who you may know as Rich Hallford) from 1000 Knives. And unlike the last time I did the show, the live player will be a high quality stream. You can even call-in and talk to us – the number is 646-929-1357. Last time I was on a lot of creepy, weird people called in, and I fully expect the same tonight.

Crustcake, one of our favorite metal sites that isn’t this one, has started a podcast. In addition to host/Crustcake regular The WZA’d, the inaugural edition features the great Cosmo Lee and Jess Blumensheid. I was invited to be a guest and couldn’t participate this week due to pre-Thanksgiving bullshit, but I hope that Vince and/or myself will be able to to join a future episode.

In addition to the regular “Creep Show” gang – Noisecreep editor Seth Werkheiser, news columnist and writer Chris Harris, and Revolver senior writer and Noisecreep scribe Jon Wiederhorn – we joined call-in guests Brandon Saller and Alex Varwhateverthefuck from Atreyu. Because we were guests in someone else’s house, we decided to be polite and play nice with the Atreyu dudes… so apologies to anyone who was hoping we’d get into it with the metalcore (excuse me… “metallic rock”) band.

We had a lot of fun – in fact this was Vince’s second time on the show – and hope to visit with the Noisecreep family again real soon. Enjoy.

‘Cause the muthafuckin’ man himself, Trevor “Heartburn” Strnad, is going to call in. He’ll be discussing BDM’s excellent new album, Deflorate (in stores now!), taking questions from other callers, and participating in MI’s patented “Death or No Death” game, where you try to guess which death metal band names are real, and which ones are fake. The last time Rob Pasbani and the gang played that game, it was with The Red Chord’s Gunface, and he won. Can one Metal Blade artist who likes to act silly out perform another Metal Blade artist who likes to act silly? You’ll have to tune in to find out!

Our boy Rob over at Metal Injection recently conducted an phone interview with the almighty Dethklok for the Metal Injection Brain Damage podcast. Because I helped Rob out with the questions, and because I have no sense of modesty whatsoever, I’ve included the podcast below for your listening pleasure. Brain Damage: DETHKLOK Interview Special

Thanks to Rob for getting on the phone with these dudes so I don’t have to. I hate talking to people on the phone. Or in person, for that matter.

Speaking of Dethklok, they finally announced their tour dates with …And You Will Kow Us by the Trail of Dead, the non-metal band with the most metal name of any non-metal band, ever (save for the Starland Vocal Band, of course). Right now, the tour seems to exclusively be hitting universities, and is coming nowhere near NYC, thus settling my debate about whether or not I’d actually go see a live flesh n’ blood incarnation of my favorite cartoon band.
