DAATH is traveling the United States and Canada this summer on the Conquer and Curse tour which features Goatwhore, Abigail Williams, Abysmal Dawn, Success Will Write Apocalypse Across The Sky, and us. My blog isn’t going to become a tour blog, but I do feel that its my duty to discuss amazing and fucked up things when they happen. And they do happen when you’re on the road.

There is no news this year I have been as happy to report as this.

All of the bands on this summer’s Conquer & Curse tour – Goatwhore, Abysmal Dawn, Daath, Abigail Williams and SWWAATS (I’m way too lazy to type out their full name, even if I could have totally typed out their full name in the time it took me to write about how I’m too lazy to type out their full name) – are having a pizza party at Criminal Records in Atlanta this Wednesday, June 24, at 6 p.m.

And Goatwhore’s Ben Falgoust is the DJ.

MetalSucks and Metal Blade Records are teaming up to give away one ticket for every stop of this summer’s Goatwhore / Daath / Abigail Williams / Abysmal Dawn and Success Will Write Apocalypse Across the Sky tour! What we’ve heard so far of the new Goatwhore record Carving Out the Eyes of God fucking rips; that shindiggy comes out June 23rd. And we’ve made no secret about how much we love the new Daath record The Concealers; that shit is criminally good. And with the other three bands on the bill you’ve got a nice, well-rounded tour package there with a bit of something for everyone.

All you have to do to win is email goatwhoretickets [at] metalsucks.net as follows; in the subject line, write GOATWHORE TICKETS / CITY, STATE / DATE OF SHOW, filling in the details for the show you’d like to attend. In the body of the email include your FULL BIRTH NAME, as winners names will be added to Goatwhore’s guest list at the show to be claimed by presenting ID. Those who do not follow these instructions precisely will be disqualified from the contest. One winner per city will be drawn at random and contacted by a Metal Blade Records representative two days prior to the show.

Due to illness, Obscura have been forced to cut short the remainder of their North American tour. The MetalSucks-sponsored Contamination Tour will continue on through May 10th with label-mates Graves of Valor, with appearances on select dates from Brutal Truth and Hero Destroyed.

Obscura vocalist /guitarist Steffen Kummerer issued the following; “Several nights ago, after struggling with illness throughout this tour, I’ve lost my singing voice entirely and can barely speak. At this juncture, it’s best for me to rest rather than deliver anything less than exceptional performances. For all the cities we’ll miss, we’ll be back in the winter to make-up these dates. Thanks to everyone who made our first North American Tour so amazing. We’re looking forward to returning again in the winter.”

The tour will conclude earlier than expected with the May 11th through 14th dates being cancelled. Affected cities are as follows; Danbury, CT, New York City, Baltimore and Philadelphia. A list of on-going shows is below.
