BLOODBATH’S “EATEN”: THE RADIO DISNEY VERSION

Monday, February 28th, 2011 at 1:30pm by

Alright, seriously, I am over it with Andy Rehfeldt. His schtick of turning metal songs into non-metal songs and non-metal songs into metal songs was funny for awhile, but the joke is getting pretty old now. I appreciate how much work must go into making these things, but it’s time for him to find a new gimmick.

For better or worse, though, you guys seem to continue to dig Rehfeldt’s work, as evidenced by the e-mail we received from the reader known as Pahkmycah, which included a link to Rehfeldt’s latest: a Radio Disney version of Bloodbath’s “Eaten.” So I’m gonna post this, and you cats can all enjoy it, while I continue to serve my role as The Last Angry Man.

THE LATEST METAL-TO-SMOOVE-JAZZ CONVERSION: MESHUGGAH’S “BLEED”

Tuesday, October 5th, 2010 at 11:30am by

Sometime real soon Andy Rehfeldt, the guy who keeps turning metal songs into non-metal songs (see: the jazzercised Lamb of God and the Disneyfied Cannibal Corpse) and non-metal songs into metal songs (see:  metallicized Louis Armstrong and Conway Twitty and whatever you call this) is gonna hafta get a new schtick… I mean, it’s hard not to admire the amount of work he must put into these viral videos, but I think it’s time for him to take ‘em someplace new and show us something we feel like we’ve never seen before.

That being said… I love the doppler-effect riff of Meshuggah’s “Bleed” so much that it’s hard for me not to enjoy this smooth jazz version of the song. So we’ll let Rehfeldt’s return to the scene of the crime slide… for now. But I sincerely hope that Rehfeldt doesn’t turn into the Killswitch Engage of YouTubers.

“BED INTRUDER” SOUNDS LIKE THE NAME OF A CANNIBAL CORPSE SONG ANYWAY

Thursday, September 16th, 2010 at 10:00am by

The infamous “Bed Intruder” television news interview, which was subsequently turned into a viral autotuned sensation by The Gregory Brothers, now has a death metal version, courtesy Andy Rehfeldt — a.k.a. the dude who previously brought us the jazzercised Lamb of God, the Disneyfied Cannibal Corpse, and metallicized Louis Armstrong and Conway Twitty. And why not? If there was a song called “Bed Intruder” on a Cannibal Corpse’s The Bleeding or Pig Destroyer’s Prowler in the Yard, no one would have blinked. So this makes perfect sense in a horribly fucked-up way.

CONWAY TWITTY SEES THE DEATH IN YOUR EYES

Wednesday, July 14th, 2010 at 10:00am by

Andy Rehfeldt strikes again!!! The latest from Rehfeldt — a.k.a. “The dude responsible for the jazzercised Lamb of God, the Disneyfied Cannibal Corpse, and metallicized Louis Armstrong videos — is a death metal version of Conway Twitty’s “I See The Want To In Your Eyes.” As always, the syncing is near perfect (The Deciblog — where I first saw this video — notes that guitars and drums don’t match), and is consequently sure to induce giggles amongst bored and stoned metalheads everywhere. Thus… enjoy!

A VERSION OF “ENTER SANDMAN” MY MOM MIGHT LIKE

Monday, March 29th, 2010 at 10:30am by

Metal Insider‘s Bram Teitelman has found the latest masterpiece by Andy Rehfeldt, the same brilliant man who previously gave the world a smoove jazz version of Lamb of God’s “In Your Words” and a video of Louis Armstrong doing a death metal version of “What a Wonderful World.” As Bram notes, it not just the music, but the way Rehfeldt syncs that music with the video that makes these so entertaining.

Metal Insider says they’ll have an exclusive interview with Andy soon…

WALT DISNEY’S HEAD IS ROLLING IN ITS CRYOGENIC CHAMBER

Tuesday, December 1st, 2009 at 1:00pm by

Proving that you can make almost any awesome metal song sound like total garbage if you want to, Andy Rehfeldt (whomever that is) did the below “Radio Disney version” of Cannibal Corpse’s “Hammer Smashed Face.”

I don’t even think Demi Lovato would approve of this.

The upside is, I don’t think I’ve ever heard the lyrics to this song sung so clearly…
