This week we’re giving away a copy of the eponymous debut from Droid. In case you don’t know Droid, they’re the band Korn guitarist Munky signed to his Emotional Syphon label… and then one of the band’s members put him down like he was Glen Danzig. Very nice.

Thanks to enterprising MetalSucks reader “BigCrazy Gangsta” for sending us these cell phone pics of ex-Korn guitarist James “Munky” Shaffer taken minutes before one of the members of Droid knocked him the fuck out after a show in Little Rock, AR this past October. Shaffer, still in Korn at the time, was apparently quite intoxicated even before the fight, as evidenced by these photos taken at approximately 1:15am.

Rough night for the Munkster. Maybe the beatdown was necessary to convince him to quit the trainwreck that was/is Korn.

No clever headline here: just good clean fun at someone else’s expense (which, in my humble opinion, is the best kind of fun). Thanks to MetalSucks reader Matt T, who sent us this elusive photo of Korn guitarist Munky after one of the members of Droid – a band on Munky’s own record label! – dropped him like a sack of potatoes. Apparently it was taken around 3:30 am outside The Paper Moon in Little Rock, Arkansas the night before the Korn/Droid tour hit Little Rock.

Please join me now in laughing our collective asses off at Munky. I know he has since said that this whole incident was his fault and he deserved it, but that doesn’t make it any less funny.

So apparently Korn’s Munky got his ass handed to him by one of the members of Droid. I’d find this pretty hilarious in and of itself, but adding greatly to my enjoyment of this news is that fact that Droid are signed to Munky’s own record label, Emotional Syphon Recordings (which is almost as stupid a name as “Munky”… almost). Sheesh. Talk about not being appreciative.

Needless to say, this means Droid are gonna lose their current support slot for Korn. Some radio station apparently had a photo of Munky lying on the ground post-fight, but it’s gone now. If anyone knows where to find the photo, let us know. In the meantime, I’m gonna go e-mail Munky Glen Danzig’s digits; I’m sure they have lots to talk about.
