Waltham, MA’s ferocious “dirtcore” metal band Graveyard BBQ hit NYC tonight at Arlene’s Grocery on the Lower East Side. These guys are one of my favorite up and coming bands, so catch ‘em while they’re hot before they get signed so you can say you knew them when. This is not a show to be missed. It starts at 7pm sharp; we’ll see you there.

• The FBI paid the leaker of nine Guns N’ Roses Chinese Democracy tracks a visit at work. We got scared.
• We pondered the many incarnations of Arnold Schwarzenegger-themed metal bands.
• Graveyard BBQ debuted a hard partying new video.
• Made Out of Babies released a phenomenal new record; Motley Crue, not so much.
• The reunited Carcass finally announces U.S. dates and a controversy ensues about the opening acts.
• George Carlin died.

Waltham, MA’s Graveyard BBQ are on the verge of very big things and the new video for their track “The Clothes That Makes The Man” is just the latest in a string of extremely impressive output from this unsigned (for now) band. Their song “Cheat on the Church” was in the original Guitar Hero game and their 2007 album Greatest Hits Volume II is a monstrous slab of loud, raw, bluesy, dirty, gritty, metal-infused southern mothafuckin’ RAWK. Emphasis on the “mothafuckin.”

Watching this video just makes me want to see the band live again even more badly than I already do; I saw them play about a year ago, and lord, that shit was serious. Word is they know how to party too.
