Getting the latest album by a legendary band that you hold in very high regard is always kind of nerve-wracking, ’cause, y’know, what if it sucks? And getting last year’s Evisceration Plague was no different. Especially coming after Kill, which was one of the strongest releases of the band’s career, and probably my favorite album from the Corpsegrinder era up to that point.

But then that so-awesome-you-put-head-through-the-wall-like-Rutger Hauer-in-Blade Runner-riff from “Priests of Sodom” kicked in, and I knew everything was gonna be alright. And, in fact, Evisceration Plague ended up being better than Kill. It’s nice when things work out.

“Priests of Sodom” has a video now, which debuted on Bloody Disgusting. It’s pretty typical Cannibal Corpse stuff, but I don’t think anyone expects this band to release a video like the one for “November Rain” anytime soon.

And don’t forget, Cannibal Corpse kick-off the MetalSucks co-presented “Evisceration Plague” headlining trek on 4/20. 1349, Skeletonwitch, and Lecherous Nocturne are also on the bill, so you know it’s gonna be pure fucking madness. Get dates here.

Last week, we told you about Zakk Wylde’s contribution to “Addiction,” an awful new song by the awful band Dope. The song now has a music video, which was directed by Kevin Custer and MetalSucks Maniac hater Dale “Happy-Go-Lucky Sunshine Fun Time” Resteghini.

Here are things about the video that I find really, really fucking weak:

1. Edsel Dope is in it.
2. Virus is in it.
3. The song.
4. That uninformed viewers may come under the impression that Virus is playing Zakk Wylde’s part.
5. How the members of Dope now dress like the members of Black Label Society instead of the members of Marilyn Manson or, more shockingly, themselves.
6. That Edsel Dope is actually wearing a Black Label Society jacket.

Here are things about the video that I like:

1. Big Fake Titties.
2. Big Fake Titties actually gets a costume change.
3. That watching it will steal less than three minutes of your life away.

Just because I wasn’t that into Kingdom of Sorrow’s eponymous debut doesn’t really mean anything; I know plenty of respectable people who think it was just swell.

So I thought it was worth posting the band’s new, Kevin Custer-directed video for “Lead Into Demise.” I don’t think it’s a very good video, but it’s gonna be a slow news day… I can feel it in my bones.
