YOU’RE WELCOME, KORY GROW

Monday, December 17th, 2007 at 9:58am by

cliff.jpgLast week, I lamented the lack of updates to Kory Grow’s blog Sadness is Delicious, and later that same day Mr. Grow wrote on said blog that my post was “a good kick in the pants for me to get this thing going again.” And to think: I almost joined the Peace Corps, when I can effect real change right here at home!

ANYWAY, one of Grow’s first new updates is a list of the Top Ten Metal Interludes and Solos. I won’t spoil the list for you here, but it includes entries by Van Halen, Metallica, and at least three guitarists who have worked with Ozzy at some point or another. Check it out.

DOWNLOAD THE TITLE TRACK FROM GENGHIS TRON’S BOARD UP THE HOUSE

genghistron_featured_pic.jpgKory Grow’s Sadness is Delicious might have the best name of any blog on the web – except the darn thing hasn’t been updated since August. Luckily for fans of his writing, Mr. Grow continues to be prolific elsewhere, including a recent, brief interview he conducted with Genghis Tron’s Mookie Singerman for Paper Thin Walls. The interview sheds some light on the concept behind the band’s forthcoming album, Board Up the House, and, as bonus, there’s a high quality mp3 of the title track available for download. In case you somehow still haven’t heard this song on Genghis Tron’s MySpace page, well… let me just put it this way: I spent a recent Thursday night playing it on repeat for about an hour. It’s that fucking good.

Head over to Paper Thin Walls to check it out.
