CINEMETAL ROUND-UP: NEW VIDEOS FROM THIS OR THE APOCALYPSE, ENGEL, AND… NELSON?!?

Thursday, October 21st, 2010 at 10:40am by

Okay, so what videos have debuted since last night? Let’s find out!

First up we have “Charmer” from This or The Apocalypse, which our bro-bros at Metal Injection debuted. I gotta say, the choice of back-lighting the guitarist during his solo so you can’t see him playing was a excellent one. I mean, who wants to see a guitar player shred? This is metal, not fucking flamenco. Am I right or am I right?

MARK SLAUGHTER IS SO POOR HE HAS TO WORK FOR NELSON

Wednesday, June 9th, 2010 at 1:30pm by

The only time I ever saw Slaughter live, there were so few people in the crowd that Mark Slaughter (real name: Schlomo Slaughterowitz) was able to run through the audience high-fiving people. That’s a long way to fall from being on MTV and having the cock-eyed chick from 90210 in your video.

So I guess Mark Slaughter needs money, ’cause according to Bring Back Glam, he’s joining Nelson as their lead guitar player for their twentieth anniversary tour. Fucking NELSON. Man, I never knew anyone who liked Nelson. Like, I’d much rather be in Slaughter. In 2010. On tour with Winger and Enuff Z’Nuff and Jani Lane. That’s how bad it sucks to be in Nelson.

Of course, what Mark Slaughter and Dana Strum really need to do is get a Vinnie Vincent Invasion reunion going. Now that’s something I’d pay a shitload of cash to see.

ROCKLAHOMA ’09: EPIC FAIL

Wednesday, July 15th, 2009 at 2:00pm by

Our friend Allyson at Bring Back Glam has been reporting from Rocklahoma all week. She’s obviously a big fan of the event, given that a) she runs a site all about glam and b) she wrote the text for the Rocklahoma coffee table book that came out last year.

But she’s been making (perfectly valid) complaints about this year’s fest for the past ten months, taking issue in particular with this year’s line-up. And as it turns out, she was totally correct: attendance at this summer’s edition of the event was apparently abysmal.

Check out this photo Allyson took of the crowd. This was at dusk; if it was Ozzfest, everyone who skipped the second stage would be starting to pile in right about this time. No such luck for Great White, even though there was absolutely no chance of being burned alive at the outdoor venue:
