CLASSIC ROCK SUPERGROUP JJJJAMM OF THE DIZZAY – BECK/PAGE/JONES/MOON/HOPKINS

This is an unbelievable personnel roster:

Jeff Beck

Jimmy Page

John Paul Jones

Keith Moon

(and some dude named Nicky Hopkins on piano, who recently became my new hero)

Sure, the tune itself is sparse, but any recording by a group like this deserves a few listens, if even simply to imagine the magnitude of the awesome talents combined. I just wish they’d recorded a whole album, or at least one extended jam. Oh well.

NICKY HOPKINS IS MY NEW HERO

NickyFrom the late Mr. Hopkins’ Wikipedia page:

“In 1965, he played piano on The Who‘s debut LP, My Generation. He recorded with most of the top British acts of the Sixties including The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Who and The Kinks, and on solo albums by John Lennon, Jeff Beck, Donovan, George Harrison, Joe Cocker, and Cat Stevens, among others. He also helped define the “San Francisco sound”, playing on Jefferson Airplane, New Riders of the Purple Sage, and Steve Miller Band albums, briefly joined Quicksilver Messenger Service and performed with Jefferson Airplane at the Woodstock Festival

Now that’s what I call an impressive resumé.
