HOLY SHIT, BLACK TIDE ARE STILL AROUND?

Friday, September 17th, 2010 at 1:00pm by

Having not heard a peep outta the Black Tide camp since they played Mayhem in 2008 — where vocalist/guitarist Gabriel Garcia gave us pretty much the worst interview in the history of MetalSucks — I kind of assumed that band was dunzo. And I don’t think it would have surprised anyone if they were — for one thing, the group did not turn out to be the grand-slam record sellers some industry peeps had hoped they’d be, and for another, they were like all of eight years old, so if they grew up and decided they liked hip-hop or country better than metal, or that they didn’t wanna be musicians at all, well, that would have been perfectly understandable.

But no! Black Tide are apparently alive and well. They have a new song, “Bury Me,” and, thanks to the hum-drum pace of this slow news day, I have listened to and am now going to write about said new song.

COMPLETELY UNREADABLE BAND LOGO OF THE WEEK, BROUGHT TO YOU BY ROADRUNNER RECORDS – WIN A FREE COPY OF SANCTITY’S ROAD TO BLOODSHED

Monday, June 23rd, 2008 at 4:53pm by

Hats off and horns up for MetalSucks maniacs David Wick and Will Beeson. They each correctly identifed last week’s logo as belonging to the band We Came with Broken Teeth (I knew that logo was too easy!), and for their troubles, they each win a copy of Opeth’s latest, the critically acclaimed Watershed.

This week, the fine men and women at Roadrunner Records have bestowed upon us five copies of Sanctity’s Road to Bloodshed to give away. If you’re a fan of Machine Head, Trivium, or other neo-thrash, you’re gonna eat this album up and then lick your fingers to make sure you get every last taste. All you have to do to win is identify the name of the band whose logo appears below, then shoot me an e-mail with your answer, your name and address at axl [at] metalsucks.net. We’ll randomly select five winners from everyone who gets it right, and announce their name next Monday.

And thanks to multiple-time Unreadable Band Logo winner Mark Moritz-Rabson, who supplied us with this week’s logo. I love it when you guys do my job for me, keep ‘em comin’!
