EX-HATEBREED GUITARIST IN MUSIC VIDEO DIRECTED BY AND STARRING… SHIA LABEOUF?!?!

A giant, that’s-gonna-leave-a-mark smack on the ass to our pal Rob Pasbani at Metal Injection, who noticed that Sean Martin, formerly of Hatebreed, is in the new video for Cage, which was directed by Transformers star Shia LaBeouf. You gotta wonder how the fuck Martin ended up here…

UPDATE: Apparently Martin and Cage are co-owners of a company called Cardboard City. Thanks to Dallas Coyle for the tip!

I can’t stomach the song enough to listen to it, but luckily, Martin appears at the start of the video, before the music kicks in. Check it out:

SPEAKING OF HATEBREED…

800px-hatebreed_mg_6509.jpg…they’ve posted a previously unreleased song, “Pollution of the Soul,” on their MySpace page. The song comes from the sessions for their 2006 album Supremacy.

It’s one of the rare Hatebreed songs I’ve ever heard that has two distinct guitar parts and therefore justifies the band’s decision to have two guitar players (’cause let’s be real – most of the time Sean Martin and Frank Novinec are playing the same exact part). Still, the song sounds more or less like every other Hatebreed track, which means you will most likely only dig it if you a) really really really love Hatebreed or b) have never heard Hatebreed before.
