VIDEO OF THE DAY: STONE TEMPLE PILOTS LIVE AT ROLLING ROCK TOWN FAIR 2.0

Up and coming rock bands, take note: Scott Weiland is one of the best rock and roll performers ever to walk on this planet. This video of “Trippin on a Hole in a Paper Heart” was taken from a multi-camera pro-shoot for Pay Per View filmed at the Rolling Rock Town Fair 2.0 in Latrobe, PA in August of 2001 (side note: I was at this show!). Here Scott Weiland is at his wriggling, slithery, glammed-out David Bowie-esque best. STP, and particulary Weiland, really let their ’70s glam influences hang out in the later years — Weiland came on stage wearing a black vest and brimmed pilot’s cap and after the first song announced, “Hi, we’re Judas Priest.” The band is slammin’ as usual, allowing Weiland free range to gyrate about across this enormous stage in front of 40,000 people on a sweltering, humid 95 degree day. Enjoy.
