RUSH TOUR RUSH TOUR RUSH TOUR

Anybody who’s been to a Rush live event can tell you that it’s totally magical, like some kind of parallel dimension of contentment. I suspect it has something to do with the men of Rush themselves: three virtuosos who share a incredibly deep understanding of what comprises transcendent, affecting music. So that means concertgoers step through the gates with firm confidence in place of the usual crossed-arm expectations. Each Rush show is like its own holiday, where the stresses of reality are replaced with rock music at its fullest, Kobe-level potential. Sigh.

Okay if you’re still reading (hi there) and remain unconvinced, let me tell you that at a Rush show three summers ago, the cosmos spoke directly to me to affirm the validity — nay, rightness — of my rabid Rushist beliefs: during the fifth song of the night (“Mission”), I turned my back to the stage to look thirstily at the beer stand. Above it, over Lake Michigan, the sky was split by a huge fucking rainbow. You read that right: a rainbow. Not a half-ass rainbow all far away either; it was huge and really vivid. So, yeah, Rush can make goddamn rainbows. Rainbows attend Rush shows. Man, fuck U2.

This summer, it’s finally rainbow time Rush time again! And there will be extra magic ’cause the band will perform all of their classic Moving Pictures record. I’m going to hold this tour down and face-bang it!! Check out these dates released why just this very morning:
