ASKING ALEXANDRIA AGREE TO HELP SEBASTIAN BACH SEEM YOUNG AND HIP

I somehow completely missed this until I read about it on Metal Injection, but it seems that Sebastian Bach will be performing “Youth Gone Wild” with Asking Alexandria as his backing band at the Revolver Golden Gods Awards next month. (DevilDriver and Jamey Jasta will also be doing a tribute to Black Flag, but I have nothing funny to say about that.)

Now, I understand what’s in it for Baz — he gets yet another shot at convincing the world that he isn’t a pathetic fame whore, kids who probably don’t give two fucks about Skid Row will suddenly see his face, and — I’m just guessing on this one — he thinks that if he stands next to a bunch of eleven year-olds like the ones in Asking Alexandria, people will be less likely to notice that the dude singing “Youth Gone Wild” is not exactly youthful (he’ll turn 43 a couple of weeks before this performance).

What I don’t understand is what’s in it for Asking Alexandria. I don’t actually know how old those dudes are, but no way they’re Skid Row fans from way back, right? And working with Baz isn’t exactly a shortcut to the top. (Besides, from what I understand, AA are doing pretty well on their own.) Did he promise them an slot opening for Axl Rose if they went along with this? I hear that’s how he gets women to sleep with him now.

Oh well. The performance will certainly be entertaining, although not necessarily for the right reasons.
