On their Facebook page, The Human Abstract recently referred to Art by Numbersas “THE most exciting up and coming progressive band out there.” I wouldn’t go THAT far — personally, I’m not a fan of Antony Chacon’s vocals — but as a fan of THA, it’s hard not to appreciate Art by Numbers — ’cause they sure do have that Digital Veil-ish classical-music-as-metal sound down pat. Which makes sense — according to Metal Insider, Art by Numbers guitarists Victor Corral and Dustin Georgeson studied with A.J. Minette from The Human Abstract.

Here’s two Art by Numbers songs, “Memoire Insuffisante” and “Twelve Days,” so you can confirm that, yeah, as an appreciator of The Human Abstract, you can get on board with these dudes:

Not bad, eh?

The band is prepping their first release, Reticence: The Musical, although there’s no release date yet. In the meantime, you can keep up t0 date on Art by Numbers by following them on FacebookTwitter, and/or YouTube.
