EXCLUSIVE KING’S X DOWNLOAD TO BENEFIT JERRY GASKILL

King’s X drummer Jerry Gaskill suffered a heart attack a couple of weeks back. He’s recovering, but the going is tough; vocalist/bassist Doug Pinnick’s been posting updates fairly regularly on his Facebook page, and when “he’s breathing on his own” two weeks after the initial attack is a milestone, you know there’s a long, long road ahead.

To help cover Jerry’s medical costs, Molken Music founder and Jerry’s good friend Wally Farkas (Galactic Cowboys) has put out a previously unreleased live King’s X album from 1991, on the Faith, Hope, Love album cycle, the proceeds of which will go directly to Jerry. Unlike too many musicians, Jerry actually does have health insurance. However, that insurance will definitely not cover the mountain of medical bills that’s sure to be dumped upon him during and after his recovery. ALL money from the sales of this album will go directly toward’s Jerry recovery — no labels, managers, distributors or middle-men of any kind will be taking a cut.

This release was edited and mastered from a stereo front of house recording. While the audio is far from perfect sonically, the performance documents yet another magical night on tour while supporting the “Faith Hope Love” album. While many of the song titles are familiar, the band expands many of the cuts featured here, including performances that are blistering (“Moanjam”),heavy and funk-laden (“We Are Finding Who We Are”), beautiful (“The Burning Down”), and truly transcendental (“Over My Head”).

A few songs from the show were omitted due to tape damage. However, we have included three bonus tracks (an additional 15 minutes) from the same show that were not presented in the main track listing.
