TRANSITION METAL: OBSCURA’S BASSIST COLLABORATES WITH A CLASSICAL ORCHESTRA

0

We’ve long extolled the similarities between classical music and certain kinds of metal here on MetalSucks, and I think we’re finally at a point where this tenet is widely accepted. But what happens when you combine the two types of music into one piece of art?

Transition Metal is a collaboration between German progressive metal band Noneuclid (whose bass player is Linus Klausenitzer of Obscura) and Linus’s father, Ulf Klausenitzer, a professor of music. Professor Klausenitzer has brought the music of his son’s band and legendary classical composer Wolfgang Richard Wagner together into one concert, filmed in 2010 with the approval of Wagner’s daughter. Check out a preview below; looks pretty fucking epic.
