New Stuff

Nachtmystium will release a new 7″ called As Made later this month, and Invisible Oranges is now streaming the title track. (The other cut on the album will be a cover of Joy Division’s “The Eternal” featuring guest vocals by Chris Connelly of Ministry/Revolting Cocks fame.)

I’ve listened to the song three times now, and… it’s definitely something new for Nachtmystium. It’s very simple and very raw, but it has a distinct industrial influence; I’m not surprised to hear that Connelly is involved with another song on the release, because the Ministry influence is immediately apparent. Is this  a step forward or a step backward for the band that made the Black Meddle albums? I can’t tell. I can’t see myself listening to this song as much as I did the tracks on those offerings, but… like I said, I did listen to it three times first thing this morning, so there’s clearly something to it.

Check it out for yourself here and see what you think… I’ll be curious to get your opinions. As Made comes out May 15 via Century.
