SEAN REINERT IS A TROOPER

POOP.

Sean Reinert, the tenth best drummer in modern metal, has ruptured his Achilles’ tendon while practicing for the upcoming Death to All Tour. That obviously SUCKS A MAJOR ONE, but the good news is that Reinert is unfuckwithable, and is going to play the tour in some capacity anyway. Here’s a statement from the man himself:

“This is a horrible injury, the pain has been off the charts but I think it’s meant to be. I think the grand plan here is to use this as an example for a reason to raise awareness & have an outlet for musicians in need. Although I am devastated that I can’t perform at 110% I am grateful that my injury is a minor one (one that will heal over time) and still allows me to be a part if this wonderful tour and cause.”

In case you’ve somehow forgotten: the Death to All Tour will reunite  will reunite seven former members of the legendary Death (specifically Paul Masvidal,  Shannon Hamm, Bobby Koelble, Gene Hoglan, Sean Reinert, Steve DiGiorgio, and Scott Clendenin), to play songs by that band, with Obscura’s Steffen Kummerer and Abysmal Dawn’s Charles Elliott handling vocal duties. In addition, there will be support from Gorguts or Atheist, as well as special guest appearances from members of Charred Walls of the Damned, Testament, Forbidden, The Black Dahlia Murder, Origin, Cattle Decapitation, Dååth, and Chimaira. The tour is meant to raise awareness for the Sweet Relief Musicians Fund , a charity that “provides financial assistance to all types of career musicians who are struggling to make ends meet while facing illness, disability, or age-related problems.” Get all details and dates here.
