LIVE FOOTAGE OF NEW BECOMING THE ARCHETYPE SONG “THE TIMEBENDER”

Some MetalSucks commenters have accused us of playing favorites with Becoming The Archetype now that guitarist Seth Hecox is the resident Major League Baseball guest columnist for MetalSucks. It’s true; before we premiered a brand new music video of theirs in March of 2011 we looked into the gigantic crystal ball that powers the MS Mansion, saw one year into the future that Seth would email us with a solid pitch for a column, and THEN, only then, did we agree to premiere said video. We used the same crystal ball when we praised their music but poked fun at their fan-initiated MySpace “prayer team” back in ’09, saw that Seth would contact us three years in the future, and adjusted our copy accordingly.

Now then. Becoming The Archetype have been performing a new song called “The Timebender” at their current string of shows and it’s a doozy. Sick riffs, catchy melody, moshable groove, ridiculously nimble solo by Hecox’s co-guitarist Daniel Gailey. All around win. I’m very excitebike for their new as-of-yet-untitled album, tentatively set for release on September 18th via Solid State.
