“TELOS”: BETWEEN THE BURIED AND ME GET ALL PHILOSOPHICAL WITH A NEW SONG

Between the Buried and Me performed a new song, “Telos,” in St. Louis last night, and you can watch fan-filmed footage below. And in case you’re wondering what the title means, a “telos” is an end or purpose, in a fairly constrained sense used by philosophers such as Aristotle. It is the root of the term “teleology,” roughly the study of purposiveness, or the study of objects with a view to their aims, purposes, or intentions. And no, I did not already know that, I looked it up and then cut and pasted it from Wikipedia. I’m a metal blogger, not a Harvard student, for Chrissakes.

Between the Buried and Me’s new album, The Parallax II: Future Sequence, comes out October 9 on Metal Blade, and, we assume, will feature “Telos.”
