I BET BEING A SLEEPWALKER REALLY ENDANGERS YOUR STATUS AS A SHUT IN
Shut In, the new project featuring The Acacia Strain vocalist Vincent Bennett as well as Griffin Landa (formerly of Too Pure To Die) and Chris Cain (formerly of Bury Your Dead), have released another new song, “Sleepwalkers,” which you can stream here. I’m a little bummed to report that not only do I not dig this tune as much as The Acacia Strain, but I don’t even think it’s as good as Shut In’s first released track, “Exit Wounds.” Bennett demonstrates an increased vocal range here, which I certainly appreciate, but the song doesn’t really seem to go anywhere, if that makes sense. It feels like it lack structure, and just kind of a collection of random hardcore parts.
But, as always, I invite you to listen for yourself and make up your own mind. Stream “Sleepwalkers” here, then weigh in with your thoughts in the comments section below. The song will appear on Shut In’s forthcoming debut 7″, Old Homes, which comes out August 21 via Landa’s own Dreadwind Records.
