This is fucking sick.  I love unexpected covers, especially seminal songs re-imagined in different genres.  Buttery NYC songstress Kendra Morris is amazing in her own right, but this cover of Metallica’s “Ride the Lightning” is sure to get some unsuspecting metalheads preggo…  I think she’s the next Amy Winehouse.

This is part of her weekly series releasing a new cover song every Tuesday (which began with a ripping version of Pink Floyd’s “Shine On You Crazy Diamond”) until her debut album Banshee hits on August 28th.  If you live in New York come celebrate her album release show at Mercury Lounge that very night…..see you there!
