THE GRANDEUR OF EVOCATION
Evocation’s new album is, as Decibel‘s Chris Dick puts it, “a smoother death metal experience” than the band’s previous releases; guitarist Marko Palmén explains to our favorite magazine that “you won’t find any grind or blastbeats on this album… we just felt that those elements didn’t give anything for the Evocation sound.” It’s almost inevitable that fans who never ever get laid will cry “SELL OUTS!” because of this news, but the album is good enough that no one should be put off by Grandeur‘s slower, groovier sound.
But in the words of the great LeVar Burton: “Don’t take my word for it!” The entire album is now streaming on The Deciblog, so you can jam it and make up your own mind. I’ve been listening to it all morning and it’s some catchy shit.
