I was pretty surprised to find myself enjoying some of the new Stone Sour tunes released this summer, and now that I’m sitting here listening to a stream of the band’s new album, House of Gold & Bones Part 1, I’m pretty surprised to find my enjoying the whole damned thing. I mean, look, I’m not gonna have the band’s logo branded on my ass tomorrow, but this stuff is definitely better written than the vast majority of whatever is passing for alt metal these days. I might have rolled my eyes at someone who digs “30/30-150,” but I wouldn’t fault anyone for digging this.
Listen here, then tell me if I’m crazy or not in the comments section below. The album comes out on Roadrunner tomorrow.
