Gojira’s Mario Duplantier Artwork is as Awesome as His Band’s Music

You may or may not have known that superman Gojira drummer Mario Duplantier is a talented painter — his artwork adorned the Gojira rarities 7″ that Volcom put out last year and was featured in the “Liquid Fire” and “Explosia” lyric videos — but you probably didn’t know that he’s got an extensive collection of works he’s painted onto drumheads (and if you did know, well, congrats, you’re a bigger Gojira fanboy than I am). Metal Injection’s Rob Pasbani recently interviewed Dupantier about his artwork and featured a few of those works on the site, and it’s a fascinating look into another side of one of our favorite modern metal musicians.
