Stones Of Madness by Hiram Pedraza. Not Hellyeah.

Atheist frontman Kelly Shaefer first told MetalSucks about his project Stones Of Madness in April 2012, just as Atheist was set to embark on the first round of Death To All tour dates. Formed with Scott Thompson of Kids In The Hall Dry Kill Logic and G.J. Gosman (drummer of Shaefer’s rock band Neurotica), Stones Of Madness has quietly previewed a few tracks, but now as Atheist prepares their new record, it seems like the SoM train is gathering steam: Shaefer and crew made their live debut on July 14  — rounded out by bassist Julia Simms and Neurotica guitarist Shawn Bowen — and named “Hostility” the first single from their forthcoming EP. Crank it up and you can almost see SoM in the support slot of a co-headline tour by Alice In Chains and a reunited White Zombie. Or Down and Anthrax rejoined by Jon Bush. Or even C.O.C. and Black Label Society. Or better still, something less nightmarish.
