Soulfly Bring the “Bloodshed”

I’ve never really been here nor there about Soulfly; don’t love ’em, don’t hate ’em, don’t feel any particular way about ’em. But I’m digging their new track “Bloodshed.” That groovy riff right before the verses, and that lead guitar line coming out of the verse and into the chorus… Tasty McTasterson! The lyrics — highlighted by this new lyrics video — are embarrassingly cringe-worthy, but what are you gonna do… it’s Max Cavalera. And I can’t disagree with my pal Axl about the cheesy cover artwork. So overall I guess I’d give this a solid B-, maybe a B? That’s an upgrade from my previous apathy.

Savages comes out October 4 on Nuclear Blast.
