Chimaira Will Show No Mercy to the Midwest

On Wednesday night, Vince and I got to see the new line-up of Chimaira live for the first time… and they totally killed. They sounded great, their energy was great, and the set list had plenty of old favorites (“Pure Hatred,” “Power Trip,” etc.), sweet new tunes from the band’s excellent new album Crown of Phantoms (“No Mercy,” “All That’s Left is Blood,” “Wrapped in Violence”), and some nice surprises, too (I don’t think I’ve heard them perform “Everything You Love” since about 2005). I can’t wait to see them again.

So, Midwesterners, you lucky folks, you: the band has just announced that they’ll hit your part of the country late next month. No supports acts have been announced as of yet, but whatever — you really should go see these dudes regardless of who else is on the bill. I promise you won’t be disappointed.
