Finally, Some Clips of the Through the Never Narrative Plotline

0

Metallica Through the Never had a $1.67 million opening weekend, which, according to resident MS Mansion Film Expert Sir Axl Rosenberg, is a fairly decent number given the film’s $18 million production budget. So the question now becomes: will anyone outside of the band’s hardcore fan-base care now that the die-hards have already seen the film? It opened at 308 3D IMAX theaters this past Friday and will expand to include 650 theaters (including regular old 2D) this coming Friday, October 4th. They’re treating the release of this film the way they would a small indie film, as opposed to releasing on thousands of screens all at once like a big blockbuster. We’ll find out once the numbers come in next Monday.

Metallica have released yet another behind-the-scenes video, which you can watch below (check out some of the previous episodes here). We finally get to see some of the scenes from the film’s narrative plotline about the Metallica roadie on a mission to… do something… which it seems like the film’s promoters have been keeping mostly under wraps in these videos in favor of focusing on the production of the live show element. Some of the scenes certainly look interesting, but I maintain that they feel like a distraction to the live footage. I haven’t seen the film yet, though, so I’ll reserve final judgment; I hope to check it out this week.
