Exivious Show You Their Soft Side on “Alphaform”

Dutch fusion-metal outfit Exivious have made us wait nearly a year from when they first teased their new album Liminal to when it finally comes out on November 8th, those bastards. But the new material we’ve heard from the record so far has made it worth the wait, and it’s every bit as good as you’d expect from this cast of characters: guitarist Tymon Kruidenier and bassist Robin Zielhorst (both ex-Cynic), new drummer Yuma van Eekelen and new guitarist Michel Nienhuis.

In June we got to hear “Entrust” and now we’re getting “Alphaform” via an exclusive stream at Terrorizer. It’s as slow-paced a song as Exivious have released to date, but it’s no less delicious to my ears. It’s like some kind of weird hybrid between Final Fantasy, metal and elevator music… and I mean that in the best way possible. Check it out here.

Pre-order Liminal here.
