The Red Chord in LimboAs of this month, The Red Chord haven’t released any new music in four years, and to the best of my knowledge, they haven’t played live since 2011. So this Facebook update from guitarist Mike “Gunface” McKenzie isn’t altogether shocking:

And like McKenzie said — he’s still making some incredible new music to fill the hole The Red Chord’s absence has left in your oh-so-fragile heart. Stomach Earth’s self-titled debut, which is out now on Black Market Activities, is one of the best albums of the year. And as Mr. McKenzie says, the project will make its live debut a The Fourth Annual MetalSucks/Metal Injection CMJ Music Marathon Showcase, which also feature Fuck the Facts, Fit For An Autopsy, Meek is Murder, and Hivesmasher. In addition to Job for a Cowboy guitarist Tony Sannicandro, the live version of Stomach Earth will feature The Red Chord’s Greg Weeks on bass and Hivesmasher’s Tim Brault on drums, making it a true all-star line-up. You don’t wanna miss this show! Tickets are on sale now for just ten bucks!!!
