Jake E. Lee Did Something!
I know some very smart people who really like Jake E. Lee, and so I sincerely hope they are stoked on his new project, Red Dragon Cartel, and that project’s debut single, “Feeder,” which features Cheap Trick’s Robin Zander on vocals. Really! Just ’cause I think this sounds like a parody of No More Tears-era Ozzy doesn’t mean I begrudge anyone else enjoying this. Some people really wanna feel like they’re walking out of the theater as the closing credits of the original Buffy the Vampire Slayer roll, and those people deserve to have fun, too.
Red Dragon Cartel’s self-titled debut comes out January 28 on Frontiers. In addition to Mr. Zander, it features guest appearances by Rex Brown, bonafide world champions Paul Di’Anno and Maria Brink, and two guys you’ve never heard of who allegedly play in Slash’s solo band. Anyone else smelling a potential 2014 album of the year?
